Mastiha trees and similar varieties of this tree family are an essential part of maqui-type vegetation found in Mediterranean countries, but only in Chios tree and nature offer those precious mastiha “tears”.

STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS

  • Always store Mastiha in its original packaging, tightly closed. Keep in a dry & cool place that will not exceed 64°F or 18°C for up to one week.
  • For periods longer than 7 days and during the summer, always store at below 57.2°F or 14°C.
  • Exposure of Mastiha tears to light, heat, humidity & air may lead to alteration of the product form.
  • Wrong storage may lead to Mastiha tears sticking to each other and becoming one hard mass.
  • In this case, you can place it in the freezer for a few hours and then break it up, into smaller pieces or even powder, in order to consume it as desired.
  • Any change of the form due to wrong storage conditions does not cause any alteration of its properties.
