If you have a serious collection of pricey knives, this is the sharpener you want. Three stages of sharpening gradually build up a smooth, even, and incredibly sharp knife edge.
It didn't produce as even an edge as some high-end electric sharpeners. That said, it gave the knife a very refined edge.
In spite of its tiny size and low price point, it has both coarse and fine slots, so it will refine a knife's edge a bit once it sharpens it.
There is only one stage here, so although it sharpens well enough, the edge is noticeably rough. As a result, the knife tends to saw rather than cut smoothly.
